Introduction
The main feature of the Follower X183 GPS quadrocopter, as its name implies, is the presence of GPS modules. The drone received such smart flight modes as Follow Me (‘follow the operator’) and Orbit mode (circular movement around the object), as well as a correctly working return to the take-off point.
Design
There is a 720p camera with an FPV transmitter, and GPS with interesting ‘follow me’ functions, and an ‘orbit’ (about them below), and it’s cool looking remote control, and even a separate screen for observations from the FPV camera. The only thing you saved on here are the motors, they are collector, so their resource is limited, fortunately, getting spare parts is not a problem. The quadrocopter stands out with its excellent design: black matte plastic with refreshing blue accents, swift shape, on the side – the inscription ‘Follower X6’, appealing, apparently, to the ability of the drone to independently follow its owner.
Features & Flight Control
The bats here are long, with a good power reserve, so using them is a pleasure. Two triangular buttons under the left stick enable/disable the ‘follow me’ mode, the same two buttons under the right stick allow the ‘orbit’ mode. The buttons to the right of the left stick are responsible for automatic take-off and landing (it is easy to guess which one is for what). Two round buttons on top of the left stick serve to turn on the ‘headless’ mode and turn off the GPS. The buttons above the right stick are for photos and videos. The upper button on the left end switches the flight speed, on the correct term – switches on the return mode ‘home,’ but about it – also lower.
Using a 5.8G network for transmitting FPV had a positive effect on the communication range: the image sent to the screen from a distance of up to 300 meters! The quadrocopter itself can fly 350-400 meters without any problems. A two-can battery with a capacity of 2000mAh is enough for 8-10 minutes of flight, and its charging will take 2-3 hours. For the remote control to work, you have to buy 4 AA batteries additionally, but a built-in battery powers the FPV monitor – there is a separate charger for it in the kit. So, Follower X183 GPS will be an excellent choice for those who need GPS, flight range, and FPV image quality more important than the flight speed and megapixels in the camera.
