Liberate your style with a sporty watch
In September 2015, Google found the details of the LG smartwatch in its news materials on its large Android event, claiming to be the first Android Wear device with cellular features. The device was officially launched a month later – called LG Watch Urbane, the second edition of LTE.
Authentic Design.
The second version of stainless steel has a diameter of 44.5mm – a thickness of 14.2mm. This is more than 3 mm thicker than the original Urbane. If you plan to use a smartwatch as a calling device, you need extra juice.
The hardware settings are slightly different from the usual Android smartwatch arrangements. The new LG watch has three buttons to the right for quick access to contacts, LG Health and application listings. Pressing the crown button activates a new environmental model that is designed to extend battery life.
Full Circle P-OLED Display
The display of the second edition of LG Watch Urbane has also been improved. This is a 1.38-inch full-circle P-OLED, 480 x 480, and one – an impressive 348ppi.
The second version of Urbane runs a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 768MB of RAM, running the usual Android Wear 4GB storage.
Built-in optical heart rate monitor combined with new LG fitness features such as guided exercise and stress level monitoring.
Stand-Alone Connectivity
LGs first Android Wear smartwatch with cellular connectivity lets you make and receive calls or send text messages without using your phone.
LG Watch Urbane LTE is bigger and more expensive than a typical smartwatch, but it doesnt do anything other than getting alerts, calls, and messages without a cell phone. Also, it lasts only half the time of most other smartwatches.
Looks good. Feels great.
But for now, Urbane 2 is a bit too big, a bit too expensive, and not quite different from other Android Wear options to prove its higher cost and monthly fee. If you are eager to have a watch with a cellular radio, please wait until this (or next) included software to make it useful.
Existing Verizon and AT&T postpaid customers using Android devices are one of the few people who can benefit from Urbane with LTE connectivity, but if you are not one of those lucky ones, then youd better use a typical Android wearable.
